Dicle Ozcer (born July 7, 1995) is an Turkish film director, producer, actress and screenwriter.
She attended acting workshops held by International Schools Theatre Association (ISTA) in London, UK. Dicle also attended two semesters of summer school at Guildford School of Acting (GSA) in University of Surrey , UK and took advanced acting classes.
Dicle Ozcer moved to Los Angeles to get her Bachelor’s degree in Acting from AMDA College and Conservatory of Performing Arts (LA). After graduation, she submitted an original dark comedy play called The Jump to the Santa Monica Theatre and got her first opportunity to direct in a professional setting. Dicle soon after directed Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet at Santa Monica Theatre and worked as a stage manager for other productions as well. Ozcer took part in the selection process of future productions, managed casting, rehearsal schedule and technical crew.
Life[edit]
Dicle Ozcer was born on July 7th, 1995 in Ankara, Turkey to business management consultant Sema Ozcer and construction engineer Aygun Ozcer. She went to Başkent Üniversitesi Özel Ayşe Abla for elementary school and studied at Bilkent Laboratory and International School (BLIS ) for high school. She completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP) in 2013. In the same year, she got accepted to AMDA College and Conservatory of Performing Arts in Los Angeles and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Acting in 2016. In 2017, she got accepted to New York Film Academy (LA) and graduated in 2019 with her Master of Fine Arts degree in Filmmaking.

Dicle Ozcer has written, directed and produced five short films so far:

- Big Break (2020)
Big Break, after its initial private screening at Warner Bros. Studios, started to get recognition in local and international film festivals. So far, Big Break was selected as an “Official Selection” at 21 film festivals in the United States and Europe. Dicle Ozcer won 4 “Best Director” awards and 6 “Best Comedy” awards in distinguished film festivals.
Big Break was also a semi-finalist in Burbank International Film Festival and Dumbo Film Festival NYC. In addition to these, Big Break was an official selection at other respectable film festivals such as: Portland Comedy Film Festival, Anatolia International Film Festival, Summer in The South, Austin Comedy Short Film Festival, Lady Filmmakers Film Festival, The Monthly Film Festival (UK) and London Worldwide Comedy Short Film Festival.
Ozcer’s other short film Broken Circle (2019) won Best Experimental of the Month at The Monthly Film Festival (UK) in 2020.[1]
Dicle Ozcer was invited as a guest speaker to Newport Harbor High School for their TV & Film Production program and had a Q & A with young filmmakers after a screening of her film Big Break. Dicle Ozcer was interviewed by Film Fest Report Channel, Toronto Film Magazine and VoyageLA and had articles written about her and the success of Big Break on TMFF, Film Threat and In Their Own League. Her work also found coverage in Turkey’s two of the highest circulating newspapers, ‘Hurriyet - Kelebek’ and ‘Milliyet’.
Ozcer is currently a film festival judge for Atlanta Comedy Film Festival, Summer in the South and The Southern Horror Film Festival. Dicle Ozcer was recently invited to Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) as a guest speaker for their Short Film class and got to share her experiences about making a film and jumping into the film festival circuit. Dicle is currently working on a comedic web series about relationships with another filmmaker friend.
