Amiri Mutebi (born 4 January 1998) is a Ugandan businessman and talent manager professionally known as Dictator Amir.[1] He was born and raised by his father, the Late Mutebi Yasin, and mother Nalwadda Magret in a family of three boys and one girl in Kawempe Division.[2]
Early life
In 2019, Dictator Amir started his talent manager career after signing a famous music artist Chosen Becky, and she has released top hit songs under his management.[3] He is still the managing director of his record label. He has also changed other people's lives through charity. Amir is an activist and an entrepreneur who has different investments in other areas of business; he is a brand influencer and a marketer by profession.[4]
Education background
He started his nursery education in 2001 at Crescent Primary School and later joined Omega Bright Primary School for his primary level. Dictator Amir completed his Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) at Kawempe Church of Uganda Primary School in 2010.
In 2015, he completed his Ordinary Certificate Of Education at Seat Of Wisdom Senior Secondary School in Kasawo. He later joined Broadway High School Kawempe in 2016 for his Advanced Certificate Of Education. He later started his university education and pursued a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.[5][6]
Career
In 2017, Dictator Amir started social media & online marketing of Ugandan artists.[7] He started online music promotions for singers like Bobi Wine, Eddy Kenzo, David Lutalo, Big Eye StarBoss, Chosen Becky, and many others. While practicing his music business and talent management, Amir started working for Umeme as a side income to increase his revenue as a young entrepreneur.[8][9]
He started a music record label to practice his love for music and later signed a famous musician known as Chosen Becky. It is said Amir knew Chosen Becky before the female star vocalist started her career, which he denies publicly.[10]
He is a social media influencer, and he has worked for very many companies as a product influencer since he has a large number of followers on all social media handles. Amir has won different awards in the entertainment industry, both in music and social influencing, which has played a great role in his fast rise in his career.
Personal life
Dictator Amir and Chosen Becky have three children together. The first child they had is “Hrim Kukiriza”, and in 2020, the couple gave birth to their second child, Mutebi Heather Kitiibwa Amir.[11] This confirmed the public about Chosen Becky’s relationship with her manager. Later, in 2023, they gave birth to another third child called Mutebi Jibran Nsubuga. The two have been victims of social media bullying but are still together happily with their children.[12]
