Digit (robot)
Digit is Agility Robotics' second commercial robot.
Development
Designed as the successor to Cassie, Digit adds two 4 degree of freedom arms that can lift packages up to 18 kg.[1]. The arms also allow Digit to slow down falls and get itself back up. Digit's 2 degree of freedom feet allow the robot to balance better on uneven surfaces, and stand on one leg[2].
Production
Ford Motor Company ordered the first two Digits produced.[3] Ford plans to use the robots to develop a last-mile package delivery service. Ford also showed off two prototype units at CES 2020. The first production run of Digits was six robots, but Agility Robotics plans on doubling production in 2021[4]
