Dilan Damaire Charles
Dilan Damaire Charles (born March 5, 2002), known professionally as MOB Carry, is an American rapper and singer from Brooklyn, New York. From fighting adversity, squashing his doubts and accomplishing what he truly believed in, he has yet to make a name for himself, which involves some of his unreleased singles as of February 12, 2022, such as “The City”, “Poppin” and “Fairytale Heart”.
MOB Carry is set to release his debut album in 2022 to 2023. It includes singles like “Money On Me” and “Young N**** Flossin”. Last year, MOB Carry released his collaboration EP, All In Due Time,[1] in mid-September of 2021.

his life until he got to high school. At the age of 8, Charles had dreams of being in the NFL until those dreams were crushed because his schools he enrolled in did not have any football teams. There was also a time when he was just 8 years old, almost losing his life from being trapped on a school bus at night heading home after school. He claims that a car pulled up right next to the bus while it was parked. Two men got out, and one approached with a gun in his hand. Charles had to act fast and decided to hide under the seats hoping nothing would happen. Later that day, the bus driver came and saw Charles on the bus and gave him a big smile, unaware of what had happened. He got home to his mother around 8pm, safe and sound from this tragic event. He then moved to Tampa, Florida after middle school, where he would then begin to find his passion for music.
Career
As a kid, Carry never had any motivation or wanted anything to do with music. He was enrolled at The Science and Medicine Middle School where everything looked bright for this kid’s future. Carry had an assignment from his art class, which stated that everyone must write a song to bring in to school the next day. He brought his assignment to school as instructed for his teacher to grade. That day was a school trip for him and his classmates. His teacher took his assignment and told him that he had to perform his song at a theater in Manhattan, New York which had at least 1,000 to 2,000 people in attendance.
Even after that, Carry still never had any aspirations for music, not until he got to high school where he attended C. Leon King High School [2]in Tampa, Florida. He used to hang around people he knew in the morning all the time but stayed distant from everyone, except a couple of his close friends. One day at school, there were students that he used to hang around at his table that started rap battling each other in the morning. His friend and close friend doubted him and even told him that he wasn’t capable of doing what the other students did or anything that’s music related. Carry would then make it a mission to do just that.
He went home that exact day, watched YouTube tutorials, and made his first song which was a diss track to everybody at his table in school. The diss track was a remix to Tay-K's "The Race"[3] but has been taken down ever since then. Meanwhile, Carry made YouTube videos from the NBA 2K community. He used to make mixtape videos, tutorial videos, etc. He got noticed for his creative videos and consistency on the platform around 2016 to 2017. One of his videos was an honorable mention in a huge editing tournament which was noticed by someone who then asked Carry to join his editing community with a lot of other editors.
Carry would then meet his friend, MMG Waveyy, as they released multiple tracks together. Carry started getting a little bit of recognition from social media which would lead him into making his first official single “Trap house” in early January of 2017 that would set it off for the young superstar.
After high school, Carry would move to Raleigh, North Carolina in early August of 2019 with his mother hoping for a better opportunity. He would then reunite with his brother and rapper, Jaywin. He used his studio to record “Fairytale Heart” which would be his first ever recorded song in his new city.
As time passes being in a new state, he has been introduced to a lot of great talent in his area. On January 13, 2021, Carry would release his single “You down?”[4] with his brother and rapper, Jaywin, which would gain some attraction and radio play from K97.5 and would land on urban charts at #203. This single was released under his team Double Krown Entertainment (DK) which involves great artists like, Donovan McCray, O$$O, Simba Bradley, Dxn Creq, AK! Niran, Jaywin, and many more. He would then be placed on Simba Bradley's project "Dojo" with the single "Can't Get It Right"[5] with rapper, Jaywin.
On September 17, 2021, Carry released his collaboration EP “All In Due Time” with rapper, Simba Bradley, which includes singles “Again & Again” and “Where I’m From” that gives you an energetic, dancing feel to the project.
Musical Style
MOB Carry is mostly known for his unique sound and delivery, which can be shown on singles, “Poppin” and “The City”. His sound can also be well known as “melodic”. As a child, he started listening to a lot of underground music which involved artists 1030 Tuwop and Duwap Kaine. His favorite mainstream musicians were Lil Uzi Vert and Kanye West but he shifted his focus to the underground scene. His favorite artist to date is more professionally known as Lil Tecca as he became more in tune with music around the era of Lil Tjay, Lil Mosey, NLE Choppa, and much more. These artists were definitely inspirations to Carry more than anything.
