Dilip K. Prasad (born 1977) is an Indian academic and computer scientist. He is a professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Tromsø (UiT) in Norway.[1] His work is in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), including topics such as interpretability in deep learning,[2] and diversity policy in AI.[3]

He has been included in the Stanford University list of the top 2% most-cited scientists globally in multiple years from 2021 to 2023.[4][5]

Education

Prasad earned a Bachelor of Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad, and received his PhD in Computer Engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in 2013.[6]

Research

Prasad's research focuses on improving AI systems with an emphasis on interpretability, sustainability, and domain-specific applications. He has worked on AI applications in microscopy and nanoscopy, generative AI, and maritime computer vision.[7][8][9][10][11]
