Ganindu Nanayakkara
Ganindu Nanayakkara is a Sri Lankan innovator, software engineer and the inventor of I-helmet.[1] He was also awarded a cash price of US$500,000 for his inspiral invention of I-helmet. He received the cash price for emerging as first runnersup in the transportation category in the Verizon 2015 Powerful Answers Award contest.[2][3]
In order to honour his invention,a main belt asteroid was named as "26441 Nanayakkara"(2000 AX33) in 2010.[4]
Ganindu Nanayakkara was also awarded first place in the 2010 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair for his computer-science project. He attends the Ananda College, Colombo, Sri Lanka.[5][6][7][8]
