History[edit]

Gaming Industry veteran Scott Martins founded Dire Wolf Digital in 2010[1] immediately following his former position as head of Sony Online Entertainment Denver. Along with other Sony Online Entertainment veterans, Dire Wolf Digital was formed to focus solely on creating online trading card games. Soon after inception, the company announced work on a Massively-Multiplayer Online Game[2] that would become the Pokemon TCG Online. The Studio emphasized an "Anytime, Anyplace" approach to game design where consumers could "Play from multiple types of clients, all connecting to a single back-end"[3] Since then, the studio has partnered with Bethesda Softworks[4] to release The Elder Scrolls: Legends, and digital versions of board games created by Renegade Game Studios and Fox Trot Games. In 2016 Dire Wolf Digital released their first self-published digital game Eternal[5], which is still in open beta.

On March 21,2016[6], Dire Wolf Digital partnered with Renegade Game Studios in an effort to "bring high quality board games to the digital space". The first release was Lanterns: The Harvest Festival. In July 2016, Renegade announced[7] the release of Clank! A Deck Building Adventure, Dire Wolf's first table top title. The game received excellent critical reviews[8], and was nominated for numerous awards[9]. The Sunken Treasures expansion for the game was announced in early 2017[10], and the new base game Clank! In! Space! was released October 25, 2017[11].
