George Kabinga, professionally known as K-Blaze, is a Zambian Music Video Director, Filmmaker, and Film Colorist. His creative journey has left an indelible mark on the Zambian music industry, and his work resonates with audiences far beyond the borders of his homeland.[1][3][4]
Personal Life[edit]
Born on May 1, 1992, in Lusaka, Zambia, K-Blaze is the firstborn in a family of five children. He’s additionally married to his long-term lover Cynthia Shimishi. They received marriage on the 4th of December 2021.[2] His passion for storytelling began early, as he wrote and drew comic books during his high school years. Little did he know that these early creative endeavors would pave the way for a remarkable career in visual arts.
Early Life & Career[edit]
In 2007, while still in secondary school, K-Blaze directed his first short film titled “War: The Two Thrones.” Although the film didn’t make it to live television due to technical constraints, it ignited his passion for filmmaking. In 2010, he founded K.B Cinematic, a platform dedicated to film, documentary, and videography.
K-Blaze’s transition from movies to music videos was a turning point. In 2017, he shifted his focus, collaborating with his now best friend and business Partner Ernest Siingwa, also known as ERT to create visually captivating music videos. His lens captured the essence of Zambian music, collaborating with talents like Wezi, Triple M, Chile One MrZambia, Macky 2, Slap Dee, T-Sean, Yo Maps, Roberto, Jae Cash, and Cleo Ice Queen. Notably, he extended his reach to Malawi, directing music videos for Dr. Namadingo.[2]
K.B Cinematic & KainanBeats[edit]
K-Blaze’s creative ventures extend beyond visuals. He co-founded E.K Filmz, a media house specializing in music video production, and KainanBeats, a record label home to artists like Yang Raka, Samuel Destiny, Dope Dealers Gang (DDG), and Vex Ricky. K-Blaze’s artistic vision, technical prowess, and commitment to excellence continue to shape Zambia’s entertainment landscape. His legacy as a trailblazing director and storyteller remains etched in the hearts of music lovers and fellow creatives alike.
