Directory Report is a disk space analyzer written by AMB Software. The main screen looks just like the Microsoft File Explorer but always shows the directory's size. This makes it easy to drill down to directories which are using a huge amount of space.

    Functionality

The main functionality is to show where your disk space is being used.

Directory Report has 32 bit and 64 bit versions. The 32 bit version can scan approximately 9 million files before running out of memory. The 64 bit version has no limit, which is important when scanning large network drives.

All screens can be sent to a printer or saved to a text file, clipboard, Comma-separated values (CSV) file, HTML file, XML file, or directly to Microsoft Excel.

The installation has a Digital Signature so you can be confident that the installation program is safe from viruses.

It shows the file's and directory's 32 bit Cyclic redundancy check CRC.

There are many filters which can be used to exclude or include files, such as minimum file size and minimum file modification date.

    History

The first version of Directory Report was programmed by Allan Braun in 2000. It is written in C++ using the Microsoft Foundation Class Library.

Directory Report is free to use for 10 days. The trial version is fully functional with no features disabled.

The latest version is 69 released on July 3, 2022
