Diva Tommei
Diva Tommei, born in Rome in 1984[1], is the founder and CEO of Solenica, a hardware startup committed to transforming the power of our indoor spaces, creating smart, accessible, and connected products.[2]
Education
Diva Tommei studied Genomic Biotechnology at La Sapienza University in Rome and holds a PhD in Bioinformatics from the University of Cambridge. She attended Singularity University as a GSP in 2010.[2]
Career
Diva Tommei founded Solenica: a hi-tech startup in the field of solar energy. The goal of Caia, the special lighting system developed by Solenica, is to bring natural light into homes and offices.[1] Solenica has raised over $1.1 million, the majority coming from crowdfunding.[3]
She's also one of three Italian entrepreneurs selected for the Huawei marketing campaign #IAmWhatIDo around the release of their artificial intelligence-powered smartphone.[2]
In 2017, she gave her first TEDx talk in Rome.[4]
