dmaorg.info[1][2] is a site created by Twenty One Pilots in preparation for their next album, Trench. The website was first discovered on April 21st and posted to Reddit by Jake Dello.[3]

Discovery[edit]

The website was initially discovered when a mysterious URL appeared at the end of a gfycat video[4] on the Vessel merchandise page for Twenty One Pilots.[5]

The partial URL, which at the beginning was displayed on the Vessel GIF[6] to be

dmaorg.info/found/||l_./clancy.html

had one missing part (||l_.) that was unable to be easily solved at first. If navigated to without the missing part, it led to a 404 error page that contained a mysterious message and a code. Users soon discovered the complete URL to the main website was comprised of the URL from the Vessel page, with the missing part filled in from the violation code on the 404 error page. The violation code is also the track numbers from the Blurryface album cover.

The Site[edit]

404 ER_ROR
you are in violation. thEy mustn't know you were here. no one should ever find out About this. you can never tell anyone about thiS -- for The sake of the others' survIval, you muSt keep this silent. we mUst keeP silent. no one can know. no one can know. no o ne c an kn ow_ (Violation Code. 15398642_14)

The site initially contained 5 images, 5 dates, and various snippets of text. The 5 dates corresponded with Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun's birthdays and the release dates of Vessel, Regional at Best, and their self-titled album, Twenty One Pilots.

The images, including a letter, a map, and three pictures, appear to tell a story of a character named Clancy and a place called "Dema". Dema was originally hinted at the APMAs by drummer Josh Dun.[7] At the APMAs, Josh Dun said that Tyler was "actually off severing ties with Dema." The importance of this phrase was confirmed when the phrase "sev_ering__tiez" was found on the site. More on "sev_ering__tiez" in Changes.

Although many believed the site to be an Alternate Reality Game, the only pieces of hidden information discovered at the time of this article was a compass hidden in the corner of the map picture, and the phrase EASTISUP, comprised of the capital letters on the 404 Error Page.[8]

After close inspection of the map Image on the site, many people noted that the names of the circles at the center of the map image were found to correspond to the songs represented on the Blurryface cover if the image was turned east-side-up[9] (I.e. Sacarver corresponds to Tear in My Heart: She's a carver). It should be noted that Nico is the only one that does not fit into any lyrics.

It also is worth noting that there is a hidden date within the first Clancy letter:

cla_ncy-009-06MOON_14_-1

is the Slices Group Name property in the metadata of the image.

Updates[edit]

April 21st[edit]

A few minor changes occurred shortly after the discovery and spread of the website. The map was changed, removing the transparent corner and thus the compass, as well as changing one of the circles with what appeared to say "LISBEN" to "LISDEN" to properly fit the lyrics of Polarize: "All i feel is deny..."[10][11]

The phrase "sev_ering__tiez" was also temporarily changed to "sev_ering__ties" and then changed back shortly thereafter.[citation needed]

May 9th[edit]

A new letter[12] was added to the site, originally with the date

017 06MOON 07

This date has no known significance to the band, unlike the others. The importance of this is still unknown. The letter contained missing letters, which create the phrase

YOUARESTILLSLEEPING

This is most likely a referral to the hiatus[13] the band is currently on. Hours after the image was added, the date above the image was changed from 017 06MOON 07 to

017 07MOON 07

which was the first day of silence (hiatus) by the band[14]

Eventually, the file name, which, at the time, remained the previous date, of the picture was changed to 017 07MOON 07 as well.

May 30th[edit]

The clancy page was updated, this time with a GIF of a cheetah with letters in each frame. Once the gif is decomposed into frames, each frame contains a letter. When combined, these letters form

UNSTILLIDONTCKNOWOHISNREALINAMECDOOU?

From here, one can break this down into two separate strings:

USTILLDONTKNOWHISREALNAMEDOU?

and

NICONICO

This update points towards a circle on the map, Nico, although the exact meaning of this is unknown. Nico is the only name that does not match any Twenty One Pilots lyrics, although it is supposed to match their most popular song, Stressed Out. This update currently holds the date

017 07MOON 16

This date is one day before the next date, which is the day that drummer Josh Dun mentioned DEMA at the APMAs.[15] It is still unclear what event 017 07MOON 16 referrs to. Thanks to a bot in the twenty one pilots Discord server, it was found that the gif was originally uploaded at the bottom of the page with the date

0001 11MOON 30

It is unknown if this date has meaning or was used for testing purposes, as it was only up for a couple minutes before the gif was removed and added at the top as it is currently.

June 29th[edit]

Another update was added[16], featuring 21 figures standing on the edge of a cliff. This appears to be similar to the previous image of vultures (also referred to as "Death Eaters") on the edge of a cliff.

However, the update did not stop there. The name of the picture is

2018_514_3_8

which appeared to just be a date at first. However, if you decode it by replacing each number with its corresponding letter[17], it spells "TR_EN_C_H". Interestingly, if you replace the violation code (15398642_14) with either "trench" or "2018_514_3_8" in the URL, it will lead to an audio clip. The URL would be

http://dmaorg.info/found/2018_514_3_8/clancy.html

This is the first time a clue has led to another part of the website.

The audio clip[18] is an 8 second m4a clip. The voice is distorted, but sounds like lead singer Tyler Joseph when pitch shifted up. The audio clip is is reversed and says "WE ARE BANDITOS", as the July 1st update confirms.

The date featured in this update is

017 07MOON 17

, the day after the previous date. This is the date of the APMAs where Josh Dun mentioned DEMA.[19]

July 1st[edit]

Just days after the previous update, three updates occurred on the same day within minutes of each other.

Update 1
The first update added a new picture[20], but oddly to the middle of the updates. It has 5 numbers (notably, the same numbers from the title of the last update's image) and three thick lines, all in yellow. The image name is _.jpg. This image becomes important in Update 3.
Update 2
The second update added a gif of a vulture[21], this time to the top of the site. The gif is simply named i.gif.
Update 3
The final update of the day is another "Clancy letter".[22] The letter is composed of lines of text scattered seemingly randomly across the page.
However, if you overlay the picture from Update 1 (as seen here), it reveals the phrase "WE ARE BANDITOS". The picture name is also _e_sr__eve_r_, which is "reverse" backwards. This confirms that the audio from the June 29th update indeed is reversed and says "WE ARE BANDITOS".
The letter itself details Clancy's distrust and dislike of the nine bishops of Dema.
