Dominican Canadians (French: Canadiens Dominicains) are Canadian citizens of Dominican descent or Dominican Republic-born people who reside in Canada. According to the 2016 census, there were 23,130 Canadians who claimed full or partial Dominican ancestry.[3]

Dominicans are currently one of the fastest-growing Canadian groups from Latin America, almost doubling their population from the 2011 census estimate of 10,605 to 23,130 in a five-year span.[citation needed] Most of the Dominican-Canadian community resides in the province of Quebec, primarily in Montreal (6,690; 0.4) , followed by Toronto (3,580; 0.1%) in Ontario, Laval, Quebec (950; 0.2%), Mississauga (725; 0.1%), Ottawa (690; 0.1%), Brampton, Ontario (650; 0.1%) Longueuil, Quebec (540; 0.2%), Hamilton, Ontario (400; 0.1%), Edmonton (315; 0.0%), Calgary (290; 0.0%), Quebec City (285; 0.1%), Ajax, Ontario (250; 0.2%), Winnipeg (245; 0.0%), Oakville, Ontario (230; 0.1%) and Gatineau, Quebec (210; 0.1%).[4][5]
