Dominique Schemmekes (born June 8, 1994) Is a Dutch basketball coach, Mixed martial artist and former basketball player. Dominique currently coaches for basketball team Triple Threat[1] based in Haarlem, and is owner of All Day Athletes, an independent training platform for basketball players in the Netherlands.
Personal Life[edit]
Dominique has been in a relationship with Anouk since 2014[2][3][4].[5] In June 2016, they gave birth to a baby girl, Jelizah Rose.[6] In 2015, Anouk published a song called Dominique, which was written as a love letter to her partner. The song held the 16th position in the Dutch Top 40 and the 29th place in the Belgian Top 50.
MMA Career[edit]
Standing 6 ft 5 in (1.96 m), Dominique Schemmekes fights in the welterweight division and is led by coach Paul Lamoth. He holds an Amateur MMA Record of 4-1-0 (Win-Loss-Draw respectively)[7]
Coaching Career[edit]
Dominique started his coaching career in 2012 at the Dutch basketball club Triple Threat based in his hometown, Haarlem. He used to play there himself until 2008. Until 2014 he led the Almere Pioneers, a team based in Almere, to a total of 5 national championships. He returned to Tripple Threat in 2015. In December 2019 Dominique was awarded the award for coach of the year in Haarlem. His team had won an international tournament in Lemvig, Denmark and became second in the national championship of the Dutch u18 competition. In January 2020, his team won another international tournament in Lund, Sweden.[8]
