Donna Fletcher (born May 16) is an American author. She is a USA Today bestseller.[1] of the novel The Daring Twin and is a past president of Novelists Inc and New Jersey Romance Writers.
Biography
Early life
Donna Fletcher was born in New Jersey on May 16. She is the elder of identical twins born to Francis and Catherine Pilgrim (née Sitarski).
Fletcher's family was of Irish and Polish descent. Her maternal grandparents owned taverns[2] in Weehawken and Patterson, New Jersey. Her father was a veteran of World War Two and died while she was an adolescent. Donna began writing at a young age and saw several articles and short stories published; she was paid five dollars[1] for her first published work.
Career
Fletcher served as president of New Jersey Romance Writers[3] in 1989 and also secured her first book deal with Zebra books that same year. San Francisco Surrender was published the following year. A series of historical romance novels followed.
Donna is known for her Scottish historical romances, though she has also written paranormal and mystery novels. She has traveled extensively for speaking engagements and to teach creative writing classes around the country. She also served as a judge for the Edgar Awards.
In 2011, Fletcher served as president of Novelists Inc.[4]
Family
Donna lives in New Jersey by the beach and close to her three sons, Timothy, Matthew, and MJ, who is also a novelist[5]
