Thomas Araujo (/ɑːˈrɑːʊh/, Spanish: [aˈɾawxo]; born September 6, 1989) known professionally as Dope As Yola is an American YouTuber, podcaster and cannabis social media influencer.

Early life[edit]

Thomas Araujo was born on September 6, 1989, in Merced, California[1] to parents of Mexican descent, Araujo has got one maternal grandparent of Ashkenazi Jewish descent.[2] Araujo grew up in Merced until moving to Portland, Oregon with his father after an argument with his mother.[3] Araujo sold and delivered cannabis as a teenager through as pizza delivery job.[4]

Youtube career[edit]

Araujo started posting on Instagram as Dope As Yola in 2012, Araujo would post product reviews and comedy content,[5] Araujo's Instagram account would be taken down multiple times for violating community guidelines. Araujo started the Dope As Yola YouTube channel in 2013, posting vlogs, comedy videos and reviews of cannabis strain reviews which gained him thousands of subscribers. Araujo would start the story time videos with the ''Hard Drug Confessions'' that would skyrocket Araujo's subscriber count, making the story time videos a recurring topic.[5] Araujo would hit a million subscribers in December 2020. Araujo also started the Push Trees clothing brand and states that the idea came to him after taking a comedic Instagram picture that featured him pushing a tree, also slang for selling cannabis, with his fiancée, then girlfriend in 2018.[6]

Dope As Usual podcast[edit]

Araujo would start the Dope As Usual podcast in February 2021 with ''The Origins Of Yola'' episode. The Dope As Usual podcast would feature guests such as Josh Wolf, Nick ''Goblin'' Campana, DDG, NLE Choppa and Josh Kesselman, the founder of RAW rolling papers.[7][8][9][10][11] The podcast also features the former cameraman Marty O'Neil who became a co-host in 2022.[12]

Personal life[edit]

Araujo resides in Los Angeles, California with his fiancée, RosieRuiz, who Araujo got engaged to in 2021.[13][14]
