Dorothy Trinket Boxes
Script error: No such module "AfC submission catcheck". Dorothy Trinket Boxes These small 7.5cm x 7.5cm bone china boxes are generally made from bone china. They are very petite. Many English China companies made them, primarily Royal Albert, Royal Doulton, Fenton, Brosnic, Brockton Manor, Blue Staffordshire, Dayln, Sheer Elegance, and probably many other companies. There does not seem to be any information out there about them. So I am writing this article, to discover if other readers know anything about the Trinket Boxes. Unfortunately, most of the China companies that made the boxes either went broke or were merged with other companies.
I am particularly fascinated as to why so many companies made them. Did they make them under licence from Royal Albert? Or were they fashionable at some time.
Royal Albert, I am guessing, made the most boxes. There is naturally, the Old Country Roses, Moonlight Rose, Harvest Rose, Lavender Rose, Flower of the month series, which I guessing there were 12, one for each month.
The boxes generally have a gold tip and a gold bow.
