Douglas Stuart Mark (born May 6, 1959) is an American lawyer. He is the founder of the law firm, Mark Music & Media Law.

Career

Mark has practiced entertainment law since 1986. In 2007, he launched Mark Music & Media Law, with offices in Beverly Hills and New York City.[1][2] Throughout his career, Mark has represented several Oscar and Grammy award winning artists and musical groups, including Billie Eilish, Guns N' Roses, Shoreline Mafia,[3] Mötley Crüe,[4][5] Finneas O'Connell,[6] Andrew Watt,[7] Benny Blanco[8] and Danny Elfman as well as entrepreneurial companies including Irving Azoff's Giant Records.[9]

In 2022, Mark was named one of Billboard and The Hollywood Reporter's Top Music Lawyers.[3][6]

Personal life

Mark is married to Nikki Mark and has three sons. Their son Tommy Mark died at the age of 12 in April 2018. Mark and Nikki decided to build a soccer field in Westwood to honor the memory of their deceased son. The field is named after their son and is called Tommy’s Field.[10] It officially opened for the public on September 26, 2021, at Westwood Recreation Center and is managed by the Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks.[2][9]
