Search Doughlings: Invasion on Amazon.Doughlings: Invasion is a Space Invaders-style fixed shooter game developed and published by Hero concept. A sequel to the previous summer's Doughlings: Arcade, it was released on all major platforms in the summer of 2019.
Plot[edit]
A meteorite crashed onto the planet of shapeshifting Doughlings and the spreading gas had resulted in an epidemic that had made everyone violent. With the “extraordinary” cure he developed, Doctor Morpheus had come away victorious after healing most of his brethren at the end of Doughlings: Arcade.
But after everything calmed down, Morpheus began examining the meteorite. Upon discovering a device hidden within and realizing that this was not a meteorite, but instead a weapon of mass destruction, he was aghast. While the aftershocks of the epidemic were still being felt, it was impossible for the Doughlings to resist an invasion. As the invading spaceships were filling up the skies above, the only thing Morpheus could think to do was to arm himself and get ready to fight.
Development[edit]
The game was developed by Hero concept, a privately funded game studio as a follow-up to the previous year's Doughlings: Arcade. The studio used the Unity engine to develop a game based on Space Invaders with a planned release in the summer of 2019.[1] Development took roughly 9 months.
Because of the positive reception of Doughlings: Arcade on the Xbox One, Invasion launched on this platform first on July 10, 2019.[2] It will be followed by a release for Windows via Steam on Aug 1, 2019,[3] the Nintendo Switch launch on Aug 8, 2019,[4] and finally the PS4 version on Aug 22, 2019.[5]
Reception[edit]

It might not be the best in class, but it is close"[9] along with an 8/10 score.
The Xbox Hub concluded, "Yes it's okay for a couple of hours of game time, but unfortunately this is one Space Invaders wannabe which will ultimately be left forgotten."[10]
Mark Sherwood of Xbox Tavern graded it as "Great" and remarked "Doughlings: Invasion shows what a talented developer can achieve with the right mindset and tools. Not only does this game bring back a much loved classic, but like Doughlings: Arcade, it revitalizes the dated concept through the use of implementing fresh mechanics, heaps of variation, and a solid all-round pace" including an 8.5 score for gameplay and an 8/10 overall.[11]
