Douglas de Araujo Smigly (Portuguese pronunciation: [ dˈoglaʃ' dʒi ɐɾɐˈuʒu ˈɕmiɡlj]; born 7 January 1998) is a Brazilian mathematician. Known for his contributions to algebra and numeric sequences, describing sequences like (sequence A274085 in the OEIS),[1] he is currently a graduate student at the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics of the Universidade de São Paulo.[2][3]

Prizes and awards

He has received more than 40 awards[4] in various scientific competitions, in mathematics, physics, astronomy, astronautics, astrophysics, robotics, chemistry and biology olympiads,[5][6][7] and participates in international science olympiads, such as Olimpíada de Mayo and the Galois-Noether Mathematical Olympiad, including selection tests for the International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics[8] and the International Mathematical Olympiad.[9]

He was honored by the mayor of São Caetano do Sul for his notable discoveries and received various other prizes.[10][11][12]
