The Downtown Raleigh fire was a historic fire that happened on March 16, 2017 in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina.[1][2] The fire department was first contacted at 10:03 p.m. on March 15, and the fire ended at 1:10 a.m. on March 16.[3] This is the largest fire in Raleigh since the 1928 Yarborough House fire.[4] This left streets closed on March 16.[5][6] The fire burned a five-story under-construction apartment building.[7] In total, 10 buildings were damaged, five severely, and 58 cars were also damaged.[8][9]
