The Dr.M.H.G. Siriwardena Gold Medal or more completely, the Deshamanya Dr.M.H.G. Siriwardena Memorial Gold Medal,is awarded annually to the best all-round boy of Dharmaraja College,Kandy,founded in the 19th century,one of the most prestigious schools in Sri Lanka.It is the highest honour bestowed on a student by the school and is awarded at the Annual Prize Giving ceremony.Students of the G.C.E. Advanced Level batch of the year under consideration are eligible for the award and voting is done by the G.C.E.Advanced Level teachers of the school plus the principal.All academic and extra-curricular achievements of the student,from his admission to his graduation, are taken into consideration when nominees are selected.Since 2011, a special cash award has also been presented to the winner.
