Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar: Mahamanvachi Gauravgatha (which means: Glory Saga of Great Man) is an 2019 Indian historical drama television series based on the life of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.[2][3][4][5][6] This is one of the most popular shows on Marathi television.[7] Ambedkar was an Indian polymath, social reformer and the chief architect of the Constitution of India.[8][9][10][11][12]
"Mahamanvachi Gauravgatha" means 'glory saga of the great man'. The show aired on Star Pravah from 18 May 2019. It starred Sagar Deshmukh in the lead role. The TV show broadcasts at 10:30 p.m. every Monday to Saturday.[13][14][15]
The opening of the program had made a 3.2 TVR rating. The series is mainly based on the biography "Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar" (Vol. 1 to 12) by historian Changdev Bhavanrao Khairamode.[16][17][18] The series is seen in Maharashtra and even elsewhere in the country. This series is also seen overseas, such as Europe and Americas.[19]

This series is produced by the Dashami Creations and directed by Ganesh Rasane. On 18 May 2019, the series began with the justification of Buddha Jayanti. From the series, the entire biography of Babasaheb Ambedkar from born to Mahaparinirvan (death) will be traced. Ambedkar will be reviewed from a series of various fields such as social, political, economic, educational, journalism and law.[20][21][22][23]

The title song of the series is composed by Adarsh Shinde and Utkarsh Shinde, while sung by singer Adarsh Shinde.[24][25]
Story[edit]
The series is based on the life of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar (1891–1956), a scholar, social reformer, a leader of the downtrodden, the architect of the constitution, and the founding father of the republic of India. Ambedkar will be reviewed from a series of various fields such as social, political, economic, educational, journalism and law. From the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar series, the entire biography of Ambedkar from born to death will be traced.[26]

The series is dubbed in Hindi. On the occasion of Ambedkar's 129th birth anniversary, the series has been airing in Hindi every Monday to Friday at 8 pm on the channel 'Star Bharat' since 14 April 2020.[38]
