Dr AM Thirugnanam is a Senior Interventional Cardiologist in India, born in 1967, July 2 at Villupuram district in Tamilnadu in a weaver family. He has three brothers and one sister. He born as a fifth child. His father Muthukumarasamy Mudaliar, and mother Mrs. Amaravathy. He had completed school from Danish Mission Middle School and Higher Secondary Education from Thirunavalur Higher Secondary School in 1988. After completing his higher secondary education, continued basic science college education and appeared in civil services examination. MBBS in 1996, Doctor of Medicine in the year 1999. MSICP, PhD (1999-2002 in Interventional cardiology Ash -wood Medical University) Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology on 2007 (FSCAI). He excelled in all the subjects since his primary education.Paper Presentations: Presented more than 160 research papers in National and International conferences, especially in cellular and molecular cardiology and Clinical Cardiovascular Medicines.

First in the World Procedures: Dr AM Thirugnanam, had performed retrograde left common carotid angioplasty in a young lady with Takayasu Arteritis in the year 2019 and widely appreciated by world forum of cardiologists. In addition to his record, in the year 2006 he saved one of his patient who had severe left main coronary artery disease with cardiogenic shock by unprotected left main angioplasty.

In 2012, first left Main artery total occlusion in a patient with severe heart failure, without cardiac device support where the facility were not available to save lives, performed left main angioplasty and successfully saved the patient. Then the case was presented in TCT 2012 Miami conference.
