Dr Arif Khan

Dr. Arif is a British Board-certified Consultant Pediatric Neurologist. He completed his General Pediatric and Pediatric neurology training in the United Kingdom. He worked in various regional and tertiary hospitals in the UK.

He has worked in nearly 12 hospitals in the United Kingdom, many of which were a part of his rotational training commitment. The prominent ones included the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital, University Hospitals of Leicester, and the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham. In addition, he was a Consultant Pediatric Neurologist at the University Hospitals of Leicester National Health Service Trust for 3 years. During his tenure, he worked as lead clinician for complex epilepsies, vagal nerve stimulation service, and ketogenic diet.

Early life and education

Dr. Arif Khan is a British National born in 1976. During his studies at Indian High School, Dr. Arif Khan developed an interest in science. He completed his MBBS degree from Al Ameen Medical College in 1998. He chose Pediatrics and pursued Diploma in Child Health from JJM Medical College in 2002. Dr. Arif did Level 1 paediatric training (SHO) in the UK. To enhance his knowledge, he associated himself with many activities and societies related to General Pediatrics, Neonatology, and Pediatric Intensive Care.

He pursued the Membership of Royal College of Paediatric and child health (MRCPCH) in 2006. For the next 2 years, he did core training in Paediatrics as a Specialist Registrar from Aberdeen. In 2008, he joined higher specialist training in Paediatrics at Manchester. Then from 2009 to 2012, he took National Grid training in Pediatric Neurology at Manchester, Leicester, and Nottingham.

Concurrently, he joined a comprehensive study program in Epilepsies at Leeds Metropolitan University and completed his MSc in 2012. Later in 2014, he obtained FRCPCH designation from the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health.

He became a pediatric neurologist specialising in treating children with autism, ADHD, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, migraines, and other neurodevelopmental disorders.

Dr. Arif Khan has worked in some of the most eminent institutions in the United Kingdom. And moving to Dubai, unlike many UK-based doctors, was easy for him as he was brought up in UAE. He was also aware of the great opportunities that this country offered to its residents.

He founded Neuropedia Children’s Neurosciences center in 2018. The center is successfully providing service to the regional population. Following its success, the organization has established the second branch of Neuropedia in Sharjah[1] to serve the country's Northern population.

They are the first specialist pediatric neuroscience center in the UAE and GCC. They treat children's neurological, psychological, and behavioral disorders with rehabilitative science.

Dr. Arif has provided medical care to children with neurological and neurodevelopmental disorders through specialized care. In addition, he founded and led the strategic development of NEUROPEDIA. Neuropedia functions on creating a self-sufficing cycle of Consultation, Diagnosis, Prognosis, and Treatment and Rehabilitation curated especially for each child.
