Search Dr Dave on Amazon.Dr Dave is a persona developed by Dr David M Watson[1][2] and the Wirraminna Environmental Education Centre for an educational DVD series and associated learning materials.[3][4][5] The first two series were funded by the Murray Catchment Management Authority, MBDA,[6] Caring For Our Country, Landcare NSW, Communities in Landscape, and the NAB Schools First program,[7][8] while the third series was funded additionally by Local Land Services Western Region.[9] The videos and associated worksheets are used in upper primary and lower secondary schools in New South Wales and Victoria because of its biological content and relevance to curriculum.[10][11] In 2013, the story of Dr Dave, 'Dr Dave Enviro Legend', was written by the children of Thurgoona Public School (as part of the 'Catchment Champions' series of the Creative Catchment Kids Enviro Stories initiative).[12] The video series on Box Gum Grassy Woodlands is considered a good introduction to the critically endangered ecological community, even at the tertiary level.[13]

The series was launched by entrepreneur and businessman Dick Smith AO on 21 September 2011 at the Henty Field Days.[14]
