Background

Malcolm A teamed up with his regular producer, G Major Productions, for songs "Dreamer", "Paradise", and "We're Ok". He reached out to Bravestarr for "Making Moves" and J-Rum for "I Got Ya". When released, all of these beats were about 10 years old. Malcolm A decided it was time to open the vault and start making music. Although the beats were old, all of the lyrics/verses were current. Considering the age of the beats, it shows Malcolm A has an ear for selecting timeless music.

Composition

One of Malcolm A's first steps in recording Dreamer EP was deciding to start making music again. Friend and Javis McKarry thought the album would let the public know Malcolm personally. McKarry said, "It's now or never, but you have a lot of music, and you need to put it out."

Malcolm A reached out to some of New Orleans' heavy hitters for this album. He enlisted Kidd Kidd, 3D Na'Tee, and Dawn Richard to work on this album. This album is Malcolm's re-introduction into the music business.
