"Dreamfinders" is a television show which was made to be aired on the original Disney Channel lineup, near the launch date. Not much is known about it, other than a small description in Disney Channel Magazine. It is based on the Dreamfinder Character from the Journey Into Imagination attraction at Epcot Center, Walt Disney World.

Plot[edit]

The show was said to have starred a cast of children in "real world" situations. Dreamfinder, or Old Eli as he is called in the show's only promotional material, would bring them to "The Realm of Imagination" to help them. The children would use their ideas to make a creative solution to their problem. A villain named Fear and his minions would try to lure them and Old Eli into "The abyss of Bewilderness".[1]

Broadcast[edit]

Not much is known about Dreamfinders' broadcast history. Some sources are disputed, stating that it aired for the first couple of weeks after launch, and some say it didn't air at all. There is proof that the show was cast and had (at least one) set(s) developed. The live action "Old Eli" character is seen for exactly one second on The Disney Channel launch countdown. The Old Eli character is standing in front of a wall that has the first 4 letters of "Dreamfinders" painted/on a sign in the same style/typeface as the "Walt Disney" logo.[2] Some sources claim Jack Kruschen as being the actor portraying the Old Eli character in the show and the countdown.[3]

There is no footage of the show available online, or in any re-broadcasts(other than the 1-second countdown clip).
