Drone
Drone is a threat you can encounter in The Archives.
Method
Drones can spawn inside of any room inside of the archives. When they spawn, a player's goal is to stay away from drones, as any player who gets too close to the drone gets followed by the drones. Drones are relatively harmless unless they are activated, and they barely do nothing. When a drone is following you, it will try to stay out of your view to suddenly surprise you. If it touches you while it is activated and following you, it will deal damage, but it cannot end your run. However, the drones will sometimes stampede out of the office. They act as a replacement for Dread inside of the subfloors, as if you stay in a room for too long, they will all march towards you, dealing significant damage and deleting some of your items. This damage can be run-ending.
Strategy
Most professional players will try to stay at least one player apart from the drones, so that they don't get followed. Drones can follow you for up to 15 doors, so if you are followed by one, you are likely going to take significant damage. For stampedes, players often crouch when one spawns, so that they take less damage. Professional player also dislike drones during Bash or Scribbles attacks, as if a drone follows you, it is nearly impossible to survive them. People have found out that stampedes give you around two minutes each room.
Information
Drones deal 5 damage if touched while they are following you, and they deal 30 damage if they are a stampede. Drones only appear inside of the Archives subfloor.
