The Dubai Mallathon (Script error: The function "langx" does not exist.) is an annual community event held within The Dubai Mall in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, as well as eight other locations across Dubai.[1] The event functions as both a run and walk, and it encourages participation from people of all ages and fitness levels. The Dubai Mallathon typically includes various distances and categories, aiming to promote health, fitness, and community spirit.[2]

About the event

The Dubai Mallathon initiative transforms shopping and entertainment destinations into structured courses for participants. The event is currently organized by Dubai Sports Council and Dubai Health Authority.

The event emphasizes inclusivity, featuring categories for individuals, families, and corporate teams. In addition to promoting physical activity, the Dubai Mallathon has partnered with charitable organizations, using the event as a platform for fundraising and awareness campaigns. Amenities provided to participants include water stations, medical support, and post-event activities or entertainment. The Mallathon seeks to become a fixture in Dubai's community events calendar. There were thousands of participants in the event’s first year in 2025.

History

The Dubai Mallathon was officially launched on 24 July 2025, by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum,[3] Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence. The initiative was conceived as a response to Dubai’s hot summer months, providing a unique indoor solution for residents to maintain an active and healthy lifestyle.
