Durham United FC is a Canadian soccer club founded in 2014 and based in Durham Region, Ontario. The club plays in League1 Ontario, part of the third division of the Canadian soccer league system. The club is owned by the Pickering Soccer Club and plays its home games out of Oshawa Civic Stadium, located in Oshawa, Ontario, as well as Kinsmen Park in Pickering, Ontario. The club's colors are navy blue and red.

History[edit]

Durham United FC was announced as one of the founding members of the newly formed League1 Ontario on April 8, 2014, with a placeholder name of Durham Power FC.[1] Durham played their first home match against Internacional de Toronto at Kinsmen Park in Pickering, Ontario on June 8, 2014, defeating the visitors 2–0.[2] Durham would close out their inaugural season in L1O in 8th place with a record of 2 wins, 4 draws and 10 losses, totaling 10 points, however they came close to contesting the League1 Cup, losing out in the semi-finals to eventual champions, Vaughan Azzurri, 4-1 on October 18, 2014.[3]
