Dustin DeMoss (born August 30, 1985 in Muskogee, Oklahoma) is a whistleblower, veteran, and blogger. He is credited with a new law in Iowa[citation needed] https://www.bleedingheartland.com/2018/05/14/foreign-lobbying-will-be-off-limits-for-iowa-state-officials-employees/ after his disclosure of being recruited by prominent Iowa Republicans to lobby for Saudi Arabia against the families of 9/11 victims.[1][2]

Education[edit]

Dustin received his Bachelor of Arts in International Relation from American Military University (2009) and in 2015, he completed his Master of Science in Human Behavior from Capella University.[3]

Career[edit]

According to the report of the 28 pages, Dustin contacted Terry Strada, Head of 9/11 Families after gaining an "in" with the group and sent her all the insider emails that he had received.[4] After that the Associated Press contacted him about this story which devolved from there, and ended up bringing down the political family of Schmett's in Iowa resulting in the Governor being peppered with questions about the Saudi lobbying.[2][5] After that, the Schmett's were investigated by the ethics board.[6] Politically they were asked to resign their GOP posts through the party and the Governor sent Connie Schmett's donation to her campaign to a 9/11 non-profit after which another scandal came from that where the 9/11 non-profit sent back their donation.[7]
