Dustin Stevenson (born August 12, 1989) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman. He is currently an unrestricted free agent who most recently played within the Dallas Stars organization of the National Hockey League (NHL).

Playing career[edit]

Stevenson began his professional career in 2010, playing his first two seasons with the South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL. He then spent the 2012–13 ECHL season with the Reading Royals, helping the team to win the 2013 Kelly Cup .

Prior to his professional career, Stevenson was a member of the La Ronge Ice Wolves of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. He helped bring them back-to-back SJHL Championship seasons in 2009–10 and 2010–11.

On August 8, 2013, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League signed Stevenson to an AHL contract.[1]

After playing his first full season in the AHL with the Adirondack Flames in the 2014–15, on July 15, 2015, Stevenson continued his affiliation with the Calgary Flames in signing to a one-year AHL contract with new affiliate, the Stockton Heat.[2]

On July 1, 2016, Stevenson's perseverance in the AHL came to fruition, as he signed his first NHL contract, agreeing to a one-year deal with the Dallas Stars.[3]
