Dylan Hensley is an American security officer and law enforcement instructor. He is Chief of Operations of the Metropolitan Department of Public Safety, a private protective services company, and holds a security officer license issued by the St. Louis County Police Department.[1]
Career
Missouri Department of Corrections
Hensley served as a Corrections Officer I with the Missouri Department of Corrections, assigned to the Jefferson City Correctional Center, a Level 5 maximum-security adult institution in Jefferson City, Missouri. He completed training at the Department of Corrections Academy at the Central Region Training Facility.
Metropolitan Department of Public Safety
Hensley has operated the Metropolitan Department of Public Safety since January 2020, serving as Chief of Operations. The company is a private entity, organizationally separate from municipal or county law enforcement agencies; its personnel operate under security officer licensure rather than sworn police authority.
The company holds government security contracts. In Missouri, it has provided security services at state facilities, including offices of the Family Support Division and Probation and Parole. It also operates as a subcontractor to the U.S. Department of Defense, providing security at manufacturing facilities operated by prime contractor Leonardo DRS, including the Land Systems division headquarters in the St. Louis area, a facility in West Plains, Missouri, and a Naval Power Systems facility in High Ridge, Missouri.
Hensley works as a security and police academy instructor. He holds Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification as a Field Training Officer through the Missouri Sheriffs' Association and instructor credentials from the National Rifle Association, Axon, ASP, SABRE, and the Missouri Sheriffs' Association. He also operates an apparel and equipment company that manufactures tactical gear, including plate carriers, duty belts, and holsters. Controversial UOF Policies: Instead of going with the typical observe and report policy that most Security Agency’s establishment, Mr. Hensley has adopted a not so popular approach within his organization.
He allows the Security Officers he employs to go hands on when it comes to suspects committing misdemeanors/felonies on contracted property, this is also approved by the clients that hire him and the governing body which in this case is the Police Department that gives them their authority.
Politics
He describes himself as an America-only advocate whose political views are grounded in factually proven statistics by credible sources like the FBIs uniform crime report and other documented historical events.
Mr. Hensley believes that political debates should be guided by verifiable evidence rather than suicidal empathy, he refuses to bow down/submit to societal pressure just to be accepted and is not concerned about being called a racist or antisemite.
Backlash
Mr. Hensleys outspoken views on these sensitive topics have also attracted a significant amount of criticism online. There are reports of individuals repeatedly attempting to identify and publicly disclose all of his personal information, even going as far as to dox and harass family members. There have been advocacy groups specifically targeting him, campaigning for him to be removed from any and every department that hires him.
Operational Command
His app focuses heavily on improving Law Enforcement related activities with technology. Mr. Hensleys objective of this centralized communication hub is to integrate the investigations unit, patrol division and tactical team operations into a singular system.
Apparel & Gear
His company specializes in making apparel for LEOs, identifying clothing is very important in our line of work to prevent blue on blue incidents. Mr. Hensley picked the name because it’s derived from the Ten-Eight radio code he so commonly used for many years in the profession. In public safety communications that specific code is to indicate that an individual is on duty and ready for assignment.
He manufactures a variety of equipment including plate carriers, Level III retention handgun holsters, duty belts, ballistic helmets, breaching tools, batons, handcuffs, tasers, OC, BWCs and a plethora of other first responder related items.
