Dzumsa Homestay is a unit of OurGuest hospitality and it is located in Lachen village, North Sikkim, a district of Indian state Sikkim.[1] Name “Dzumsa” is derived from a traditional administrative institution of Lachen village. The homestay is run by a family headed by Mr. Dorjee Lachenpa. Dzumsa Homestay is near Lachen Monastery (also called Ngodrub Choling Gonpa, “Launching Gompa”), built in 1858, is a Nyingma Buddhist monastery. Lachen is located at an elevation of 2,750 meter. The name “Lachen” means “big pass”. It forms the base to Chopta Valley and Gurudongmar Lake. There are ten rooms in the homestay. All of them are equipped with attached bathrooms and geyser. Simple local foods are served in the homestay.

Bagdogra (IXB) is the nearest Airport, and New Jalpaiguri (NJP) is the nearest railway station. On reaching the airport one can either opt for a chartered taxi or take a shared taxi that plies between Siliguri and Gangtok. It is advisable to halt in Gangtok for one night and start for Lachen the next morning. Lachen is about 129 kilometres from Gangtok and journey by road will be about six hour.
