ECOUNT is a cloud-based ERP software developed by ECOUNT Co., Ltd., a South Korean software company. The software was first released in 1999 and is primarily used by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).[1][2][3]
ECOUNT provides integrated modules for inventory, production, accounting, sales, purchasing, human resources and payroll in a single system.[4]
The system is accessible via web browsers without requiring software installation.
History
ECOUNT was first released in 1999.[5]As of 2007, it was also considered the only SaaS ERP service in Korea.[6]
ECOUNT was selected as one of the Best ASP Services in Korea by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy (now known as the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy) in 2008.[7]
In 2009, ECOUNT began providing multilingual services in Chinese, English, and Vietnamese.[8] Two years later, ECOUNT began recruiting local resellers in order to reach overseas markets.[8]
ECOUNT established its third overseas office in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam in 2014.[9]
ECOUNT introduced ECOUNT Webmail as part of its ERP platform in 2015.[10]
ECOUNT established a local subsidiary in Taiwan in 2016.[11] It was the company’s fifth overseas subsidiary after previously establishing offices in Shanghai, Ho Chi Minh City, and Guangzhou.[11]
ECOUNT established another local subsidiary in Malaysia in 2017.[12]
KB Kookmin Bank signed an agreement with ECOUNT to combine its finance services with ECOUNT’s business management ERP software for small and medium-sized businesses in 2019.[1] As of December 2024, ECOUNT is being used by more than 80,000 companies.[4]
As of 2025, ECOUNT operates eight global offices in South Korea, China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines.[13] A ninth office in Uzbekistan is planned to open in late 2025.[13]
Features
ECOUNT performs functions such as inventory, production, accounting, payroll and collaboration tool.[14]
ECOUNT’s customizable features include transaction type, input, and output types.[15] It also includes features such as statement and authorization optimization and multi-location management when doing business in multiple countries.[15]ECOUNT’s Webmail uses IMAP synchronization technology, which supports real-time email access from PC, mobile devices, and Outlook.[10]
ECOUNT also includes daily security systems such as firewalls and 24-hour monitoring.[16]
As a software-as-a-service (SaaS) ERP, the platform does not require installation.[17]
The software is available in nine languages: English, Spanish, Korean, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Japanese, Vietnamese, Indonesian, and Thai.[10][18]
