The Exclusive Men of the Year Africa Awards, simply known as EMY Africa Awards, are a set of awards established in 2015 to annually honour and celebrate eminent men. It is usually held within the period around Father's Day.[1][2][3]
Categories and definition[edit]
As of 2023, The EMY Africa Awards is composed of 26 honourary categories and five (5) competitive categories open to public voting;[4]
Honourary[edit]
- MAN OF THE YEAR (GHANA) – The honor is given to a man who has made a significant contribution to society, is an advocate for change, a responsible father and mentor, an innovator, an outspoken member of the team, and a cornerstone of the local community.
- WOMAN OF THE YEAR - The prize honors an exceptional woman.
- LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD - The honor is given to a well-respected industry veteran who has excelled as a leader throughout his career, broken down boundaries, inspired change, and served as an inspiration to others via his work and commitment in the community.
- DIASPORAN AWARD - The honor is given to a Ghanaian expatriate who has significantly improved his community and is actively interested in development in Ghana.
- CITIZEN GHANA AWARD - The prize honors a Ghanaian who, in spite of all obstacles, keeps a close eye on the nation's affairs. He needs to be a someone who promotes national dialogue on issues like corruption, human rights, and development.
- MEDIA EXCELLENCE AWARD - The award recognizes outstanding contributions in media and communications.
- MEN GROUP/CLUB OF THE YEAR - The honor is given to a distinguished group of men who have positively impacted society by their participation and contributions, as demonstrated.
- CONTINENTAL ICON AWARD - The prize honors leaders in a variety of fields whose influence and contributions have been felt and seen all over Africa. businesspeople, artists, medical professionals, lawyers, athletes, diplomats, etc.
- THE SETTLER AWARD - The prize honors a non-Ghanaian or second- or third-generation Ghanaian resident who has made a significant contribution to their field of endeavor, particularly through involvement in investment, development, etc.
- HUMANITARIAN AWARD - The prize honors a person who has shown compassion and had a positive impact on society or a particular cause. There must be proof of humanitarian efforts and how they have raised living standards.

- MAGNATE AWARD (MAN OF THE YEAR – BUSINESS) - The honor is given to a magnate, such as a firm owner, founder, or majority shareholder, who is well-liked and influential in their industry. His company must be socially responsible, support sustainable development, and practice effective customer relationship management.

- GREEN CORPORATE STAR AWARD BY A ROCHA GHANA - A special recognition Award given to an organization that places environmental sustainability at the heart of their and/ or support environmental sustainability projects.
- THE LEGEND AWARD - The award recognizes a person who has attained legendary status and whose work has become a model for others to emulate. Under the year of review, an African Legend or a Ghanaian legend or both can be awarded.
- THE CREATIVE AND SUPPORT ARTS AWARD - The award recognizes outstanding contributions in the creative art space producing artistic work (arts, comedy, dance, production, set design, etc..) in the year under review, whose body of work has made a notable impact on society.

- BRAND OF THE YEAR - The award recognizes an African brand that has a male brand positioning
