Jack Starr (born April 25, 1987), better known by his stage name ENGENEER (often stylized as ENGENEƎR), is an Israeli rapper, composer, songwriter and record producer from Holon. He is the owner of RCP Media, LLC founded September, 2005. He worked with many local hip-hop artists and pioneers, such as KLIN and DJ MESH (of SADYLE), Avital Tamir of (Betzefer), Kunteynir, Klee Magor (of Riviera Regime) and Necro.

Biography[edit]

ENGENEER was born in Moscow, Russia and grew up there, until year 2000, when he moved to Israel. Early years of his career he was lived in Holon. He began his musical career at 14, playing covers on famous hip-hop tracks and bands. Started to rapping in 2004 after being influenced by his friend, rapper KLIN. He made his first demo in 2004 and won a demo battle contest at Vortex Club.

In 2006 he started to work on his solo projects, among with his side-project Skin Spin. In 2007 he released his first solo album, called 2BA. In 2008 he took 3rd place in another hip-hop contest Epicenter[1]. After that, he released his new single "WARNING". At the end of 2008, ENGENEER got in jail, for the first time in his life.

After he got graduated from prison he founded hip-hop super-group, called "RCP" and started to work on their debut album "In Your Face", released 2011. They got many attention, right after their appearance at Formula Festival [2]. Also he worked with Sadyle on a new split-record "Ya Izer", released in 2010.

Drug Overdose[edit]

In 2012 ENGENEER was working on his second solo album called "Самый Брутальный Альбом". He signed distribution contract with Audiolife, LLC later this year. Right after that he came into Wolfson Hospital with drug overdose. Doctors there told him he had ingested the equivalent of two bags of heroin and was "about few hours from dying".

Recovery[edit]

In the middle of 2013 successfully rehabilitated from drugs, ENGENEER coming back to work on managing label. He signed contract with "Trupack Records" and combined with their artists and projects. In the end of the year he releasing 3rd solo album "Каратель Земель Палестины". Later this year he cooperated with KLIN, Avital Tamir (of Betzefer & Quami de la Fox and produced their track "Revolution". They released official music video a year later [3]

2014-2015[edit]

In 2014 ENGENEER bought equipment and hardware and opened his new recording studio Real Raw Records in Tel-Aviv. He signed contract with "Adidas Originals" to perform and advertise their brand. Released his 4th solo "Jack Starr LP". He was worked on many music videos, among his side-project Kus Kus Klan. On August 21, 2015 ENGENEER was arrested the second time for drug selling issues. However he was subsequently released after spending few month in jail. In the end of the year he released his 5th solo (EP) One Man Army[4].
