eSewa is a Nepali digital payments and financial service company.[1] It was founded in 2009 by Biswas Dhakal.[2] The company offer digital payment services to the consumers and enable merchant to receive payments through its QR code.[3] eSewa received a grant from the GSMA Ecosystem Accelerator Innovation Fund in April 2017.[4][3]

eSewa was founded in 2009. Firstly, the beta version of eSewa had been released.[1] It started serving its consumers with full features in 25 January 2010. It is used to be the product of F1Soft. Since 2012, it has been continuously providing excellent services to its user. eSewa implemented an agent-based model in 2013 and the number of customers and agent five thousand and hundred thousand by 2014.[5][6] eSewa is now licensed by Nepal Rastra Bank as digital payment service provider.[2]

Service[edit]

The application is a payment portal which is used to make pay utility bills, online payments, topup payment, transfer funds to various banks, purchase of bus, airlines and film tickets, receive money or set up a merchant account.[7][8]
