eVoy Technologies is a tech startup founded in 2014. It was created by combining experienced engineers with brand marketing specialists.[1] The founders brought in venture capitalists to speed up production. The company provides, what it calls, the eVoy.[2] Since launching, the technology has been characterized by everything from self-balancing scooters and mini hands-free segways to electric two-wheel skateboards, hoverboards and smart driftboards.[3]

The idea for the technology came about via the development of the original Segway.[4] The hardware and software were intuitive, but the price point was too high. As the technology became more main stream, it was able to be re-verse engineered at a lower price point. After designing multiple prototypes, the best design was issued to Chinese manufaturers for development, beta testing, and mass production.[5]
