Ebrahim Darvish (Persian: ابراهیم درویش‎) (born 18 May 1986 in Babol) is an Iranian banker, politician and former Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran.[2][3][4]

Deputy Supervisor of the Central Bank[edit]

Mahmoud Bahmani appointed Ebrahim Darvish as the bank's deputy supervisor on Thursday, according to the Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA) Bank and Insurance Reporter. He was previously the Director General of Supervision of Banks and Credit Institutions of the Central Bank.[5][6]

According to Bahmani, this deputy has been seen in the organizational chart of the Central Bank, but so far, no one has been considered for it. He will use his presence and absence to expand his supervision over the country's banking system. Recent events in the country's banking system have made the need to strengthen supervision in the central bank even more urgent. The weakness of the central bank's independent oversight is one of the issues that has been warned for years by experts, who believe that oversight of monetary and banking activities is so important that an independent organization should be established under the leadership of the central bank.[7]

The Deputy Supervisor has two general directorates; General Directorate of Supervision of Banks and Credit Institutions and General Directorate of Regulations and Licenses, which are under the supervision of various departments; These two departments are under the supervision of the Deputy Supervisor.

Disclosure of the Deputy Supervisor of the Central Bank[edit]

Explaining the Central Bank's actions to organize the financial and credit institutions of free credit cooperatives, as well as multi-branch Gharz al-Hasna funds, which had set up several thousand branches across the country, Ebrahim Darvishi said: "Only cooperative officials violating the credit trust of Iranians with Establishing 450 branches in the country, they seized 1,200 billion tomans of people's resources and used the people's resources in their subsidiaries.[8]

He added: Only one of the customers of this free credit cooperative was paid 180 billion tomans. Dervishi to visualize the volume of resources that this financial institution had taken from the people, said: one thousand and two hundred billion tomans that this institution collected, if we turn it into one thousand toman banknotes, the load of 120 trucks will be 10 tons. This amount had no legal deposit with the Central Bank, which was merged with Ghavamin Bank in the reorganization plan.[9] The Deputy Supervisor of the Central Bank said: "Another masterpiece was the organization of the so-called Khair Youth Fund, which was rooted in the name of the fund in 4 provinces of the country, and its officials were carrying out activities that cannot be described." He added: "This fund had also created problems for the banking network and the economic system of the country, which, if not collected, would have created many problems for the society and the people, like a cancerous tumor."Dervishi said: "After exposing the illegal actions, the people in charge of this fund tried to create chaos in Azerbaijan by raising ethnic and ethnocentric issues, but their movement was thwarted with the vigilance and cooperation of the people and the Kosar Financial and Credit Institution." "Some of those who criticize the central bank for why they operated without a license from the central bank do not know that the former Ministry of Cooperatives has given a license to these free credit cooperatives," Dervishi said, complaining of some criticism of the central bank. From the beginning, the central bank expressed its opposition to this measure, but it was ignored. He said:Those who criticize the Central Bank today, why did they not go to the license issuers for these institutions when they were establishing branches one after another and after receiving a license from the Ministry of Cooperation? Why didn't any device ask these people for a license.

The Deputy Supervisor of the Central Bank, quoting the Vice President, said: "The work that the Central Bank has done in organizing financial and credit institutions in the last two years was unprecedented in the last 30 years and Mr. Bahmani's actions in this regard during the 50 years of the Central Bank." It has been unprecedented. He added: "Organizing 86 financial and credit institutions, some of which had more than four hundred branches across the country, was a very difficult, exhausting and sensitive task that led to many threats and issues." Dervishi said: large and reputable banks such as Melli, Saderat, Sepah issue separate licenses for each branch. How can they establish four hundred branches without one of them asking for a license.

He stated that the founders of the bank should have 400 billion Tomans and the founders of the financial and credit institution should have 300 billion Tomans of their own, he said: شد. Dervishi said: the contributions of all banks and financial and credit institutions are monitored and if it is determined at any stage that their contributions have been provided by receiving facilities from banks or financial and credit institutions At any stage, their license will be revoked. "The blow dealt to the country's economic system by unlicensed financial and credit institutions is far stronger than sanctions," said the central bank's deputy supervisor. He added: "The regime easily controlled the sanctions, but some of them inflicted severe blows on the body of the country's economic system.[10]
