Company History[edit]

Echo Global Logistics was established as a logistics division for InnerWorkings, a web-based printing company in Chicago, Illinois.[4] In 2005, InnerWorkings founder Eric Lefkofsky and business partner Brad Keywell expanded the logistics division into a Delaware Limited Liability Company (LLC).[5][6]

In December 2006, Douglas R. Waggoner became CEO of Echo Global Logistics[7]. Waggoner had previously founded freight management software provider SelecTrans LLC, which he sold to Echo Global Logistics in 2006.[8][9]

When Echo completed its initial public offering on October 2, 2009, its common stock became listed on the NASDAQ Global Market under the ticker symbol "ECHO."[10]

Products[edit]

Among the company's products is EchoShip, a self-service shipping platform.[11] EchoDrive is a similar platform for dealing with dispatchers and drivers.[12]

Other company applications include EchoTrak, a web portal that allows customers to view shipment details such as tracking and payment statuse, and RateIQ 2.0, a rates tool.[13][14]
