eComchain is a privately held company that provides an open-source cloud-based B2B2C solution that cohesively addresses both the B2B and B2C ecommerce markets. eComchain’s solution enables manufacturers and their distributors to synergistically address their ecommerce market while sharing valuable resources and information.  Both the manufacturer and distributor reap the benefits from an integrated platform.

History

eComchain’s roots go back to early 2015 when it started development on their B2B2C platform using JavaScript for both the server-side and client-side environments.

On May 9th, 2016, eComchain released their first public beta version. Sandeep Kuttiyatur and his team from iBizSoft, the parent company of eComchain, were instrumental in the product design and development of eComchain.

In June 2016, eComchain invited advisors to be a part of its board that included industry specialists with manufacturing, distribution and retail domain expertise. Robert Hayes with 30+ years of retail experience that included Marshall Fields, Lands’ End, JC Penney headed the Business Development for eComchain.  

As a result of the expanded team, eComchain’s growth continued that included customers such as US Defense Services, Garage Door and Steel Building manufacturers.

In January 2018, a new eComchain release included a fully embedded AI, including predictive and prescriptive analysis.

In August 2018, eComchain expanded its team to include Account Managers, Sales executives with in-depth knowledge in the manufacturing and distribution domains, providing valuable inputs to the product engineering teams across the globe.

The September 2, 2018 software release included integrated Marketing and Loyalty Program, Artificial Intelligence with predictive and prescriptive analysis, CSS structure Preprocessing using LESS & CSS URL resolver.

Overview

eComchain provides a SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) based platform with an interactive dashboard that enables B2B2C ecommerce transactions.  Manufacturers can create B2B web sites, and work with their distributors to create cohesive B2C ecommerce web sites.  The common backbone platform allows them to share information such as product information and stock availability.  Both the manufacturers and distributors benefit from the shared information and integration that drives more profitable business.  eComchain also integrates with 3rd party applications to further enhance its features and functionalities. 

eComchain uses Amazon hosting to provide high availability and security.  This cloud-hosting also allows eComchain the ability to provided quarterly enhancements and new functionality for all customers.

Open Source model

eComchain has been primarily built around the open source MEAN stack technology, with a B2B2C flavor wherein manufacturers and distributors can reach out to their end consumers on a single platform, using specialized branded sites with responsive designs. Since the first public beta version was released early 2016, eComchain’s Open Source model has utilized the open source MEAN stack (Mongo, Express, Node and Angular JS) technology.  The crowd-sourced nature of Open Sourced Software provides multiple benefits including cost, security, flexibility, freedom, and accountability.
