Edward Gibson Gallrein III (born April 20, 1958) is an American retired U.S. Navy SEAL officer and farmer. He is a member of the Republican Party. On October 21, 2025, Gallrein announced his candidacy for Kentucky's 4th congressional district.[1]
Biography
Gallrein began his career in military service, spending over three decades as an officer in the United States Navy SEALs, where he held multiple leadership positions and participated in numerous operational deployments. Following his retirement from active duty, he returned to his family's agricultural roots, managing Gallrein Farms and founding Circle G Farm & Stables.[2] On May 21, 2024, Gallrein ran in the Republican primary for Kentucky's 7th Senate district, narrowly losing the nomination.[3] On October 21, 2025, he announced that he was entering the race for Kentucky's 4th congressional district seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. Gallrein entered into the Republican primary with the endorsement of President Donald Trump against the incumbent, Thomas Massie.[4]
