Edgar Kunz is an American poet. His debut collection, Tap Out, published by Mariner Books in 2019, was selected by The New York Times as a "New & Noteworthy" book.[1] [2]. His second collection, Fixer, will be published by Ecco Press in 2023[3].

Kunz's Tap Out received a starred review from Publishers Weekly[4], and has also been reviewed by BookPage[5], The Millions[6], and The Washington Post[7].

Personal life[edit]

Kunz was born in Framingham, Massachusetts and grew up partly in Manchester, Connecticut[8]. His father, who features prominently in his writing, was a laborer who worked as a chimney sweep and handyman [9].

Career[edit]

Kunz studied creative writing as an undergraduate at Manchester Community College[10] and Goucher College[11]. He received an MFA in poetry from Vanderbilt University[12].

His poems have appeared in many journals and magazines including The New Yorker[13], The Atlantic[14], Poetry (magazine)[15], and The American Poetry Review[16].

He has been profiled and interviewed by many literary journals, including BookPage[17], Sewanee Review[18], and The Adroit Journal[19]

Kunz lives in Baltimore, Maryland and teaches creative writing at Goucher College[20][21]
