Edith is a romance webcomic on Webtoon. It was created by artist Swansgarden and follows Edith, a writer, as she struggles to find her confidence amidst a backdrop of a complicated love life[1].
Publication History
In 2017, Swansgarden was publishing on Webtoon Canvas and pitched Edith in the 2018 Webtoon Discover contest. Edith was a semifinalist and picked up to be a Webtoon Original title[2][3]. The first episode of Edith was published as a Webtoon Original on February 10, 2019[4] and was the nineteenth most popular title on Webtoon in 2019[5].
As of July 2021, Edith is on hiatus between its second and third seasons. It has over 1.2 million subscribers and holds a 9.71 star rating.[4]
Plot
Edith Sommers is a romance author who has difficulty with personal relationships, especially when it comes to romance. Despite her success, she is lonely and struggles financially.
After her best friend Jessica bails on her, she has a chance meeting with Jack, a boy she liked in high school but never confessed to.[6] Feeling lonely, Edith goes out for a night of drinking and has a one-night stand with Phillip Baker, a model who lives next door to her.[7] The two begin a complicated and tumultuous relationship soon after.[8]

- Edith Sommers is a romance novelist who has published two books. She is a lonely and insecure woman who has trouble with her own love life due to past bullying.
- Phillip Baker is a model who Edith meets at a bar[9]. After a one-night stand, he and Edith begin a complicated relationship. He models for Town.
- Jack is a friend of Edith's. She had a crush on him in high school but never let him know. He is an architecture major[9]. Outside of school, he works in a bakery.
- Jessica is a medical student and Edith's best friend.[6] She has a boyfriend who she spends more time with than Edith, and she wishes Edith would find a partner as well.
- Mags is Town's fashion designer. She calls Phillip to model at her show for a favor and runs into Edith, where they bond over their 'old lady names'. She and Kris have feelings for each other.
- Kris is Town's CEO. He's known Phillip since high school and has a slightly antagonistic relationship with him.
