Edouard Challe is a French macroeconomist specializing in speculative bubbles, precautionary saving behaviour, macroeconomic policy, and heterogeneous agents.[1] He a professor at the European University Institute, Florence, Italy in the Department of Economics.[1]
Career[edit]
Challe received his PhD in Economics from the Université Paris Nanterre in 2002. From 2005 onwards, he worked as a lecturer at the University of Cambridge; a researcher at Université Paris-Dauphine and École Polytechnique; and a visiting professor at Columbia University.[2] In 2020, Challe joined the European University Institute as Professor of Macroeconomics where he remains.[1][2]
He is also the author of “Macroeconomic Fluctuations and Policies” (MIT Press, 2019) and an Associate Editor of the European Economic Review.[1][3][4] In 2015, Challe was nominated for Le Monde/Le Cercle des Economistes' Best Young Economist of France award.[5]
