Edwin van der Heide
Edwin van der Heide (1970) is a Dutch artist, composer and researcher focusing on sound, space and interaction. His work can be defined as musical composition and musical language, extended in spatial, interactive and interdisciplinary directions. Van der Heide’s oeuvre consists of installations, performances and environments in which the audience is often invited to actively explore and interact with the artwork. [1]
Edwin van der Heide has exhibited and performed his work at numerous renowned museums, festivals and galleries including Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, S.M.A.K. Ghent, SONAR Festival Barcelona, SFMOMA , NTT ICC Tokyo Japan, NMMCA Seoul Korea and Wood Street Galleries Pittsburgh. Sound and space are reoccurring topics in his work. But Van Der Heide is also experimenting and working with other, what he calls, 'spatial media' like light (including lasers), smoke or real fog. [2]
