Synopsis
Taibangnganba, a single son to a widow Memchoubi, was brought up with love and affection. Since his childhood, he wanted to become a film actor. Thus, when he grew up, he slowly became a famous actor of the Manipuri Film Industry. Among his fans, Eethak, a fashion designer from Imphal, got crazy about him, and in course of time, she became his girlfriend. Another girl named Eechel from Jiribam (a town of Manipur bordering the state of Assam) was a die-hard fan of Taibangnganba who madly loved the acting and personality of Taibangnganba. She even left her town to win Taibangnganba's heart. She tried her best to help him out of any kind of trouble that came across in his life.
Taibangnganba became too proud of his fame and money. It led him to develop a high ego. Thus, he forgot respect and humanity towards his fans, elders, and even his film directors. He also had a rival actor in the industry named Sayonba. Sayonba’s elder brother one day broke both of Taibangnganba’s legs in order to kill his career in the film industry so that Sayonba could rule the industry. Taibangnganba took two years to recover from his injury and spent a numerous amount of money on the treatment while spending his time idle due to his leg injury. In this two-year period, he became penniless and could not return the advance money taken from the producers during the signing of films. Thus, directors and producers replaced him with Sayonba and gave him harsh words to pay back the advance money he had taken. Slowly, he became depressed and started asking for money from his fellow friends, but he got no positive response. He faced all kinds of humiliation and insults which could not be tolerated by an actor.
In this time, his girlfriend Eethak, who went to South India for a series of fashion shows, received a good marriage proposal from a rich doctor, and thus her brother Athouba accepted it. When she heard the information from her brother, she refused, but her brother insisted. In order to save her love affair, she came to Imphal by leaving her programmes behind. But that very day, she found Taibangnganba’s dead body hanging in his own room, but people assumed that he was killed by Athouba as he was the first person who entered the room. Thus Athouba was arrested.
