Effect.AI

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Effect.AI (EFX) is an Amsterdam-based project founded by Chris Dawe in 2016, which works on a decentralized platform for artificial intelligence on NEO blockchain.

The official ticker symbol for Effect.AI token is EFX, a NEP-5 on the NEO blockchain.[1]

History[edit]

  • Effect.AI's ICO started from 24 March 2018 to 12 April 2018. During the ICO period, it totally raised EUR 11,039,106.
  • On 12 January 2019, Effect.AI announced a partnership with the Decentralized Artificial Intelligence Alliance (DAIA).
  • In February 2019, Effect.AI announced that they will leave NEO blockchain and migrate to EOS blockchain by the end of April.
  • In February 2019, the exchange Bitmart also announced that they would list EFX token in June, which will be the first NEP-5 token adopted at Bitmart.

The Effect Foundation[edit]

"The mission of the Effect Foundation is to advance understanding of AI, blockchain technology, and crowdsourcing within nations." [2]

Effect.AI aims to develop technology that supports transparency, equality and opportunities for people and organizers around the world.[3] Effect.AI promotes a circular relationship between workers and AI developers, between a global economy and local economic needs, in creating financial equity and fairness to people in developing nations, to those who are homeless, and to those who are underemployed or unemployed.

Presently, few companies control the majority of efforts and achievements being made in artificial intelligence development. Decentralizing the development and distribution of AI diminishes, or holds back, this oligarchical control, which allows for the smaller voices and talents to emerge. Effect.AI creates a networked environment where less resourced developers can obtain an affordable global workforce to annotate their data in a scale that otherwise would only be possible for the field giants, then sell or buy algorithms to further their project's development.

Social Impact[edit]

Late 2018, Effect.AI began working with the government of Georgia to implement a system of bringing Effect Force to citizens in situations where access to the Internet was limited or altogether unavailable. By early 2019, Effect.AI and the Georgian government, in collaboration with the United Nations, began running a pilot Effect Social Impact Hub program in Georgia. Georgian students without income were provided with the opportunity to enroll in the Effect Force, to perform tasks on Effect.AI's Effect Force mechanical turk.[4]
