Egyptian involvement in the Syrian civil war has been Egypt's involvement in the Syrian civil war, either militarily or politically. Egypt is a vocal supporter for President of Syria Bashar al-Assad, the Russian intervention, and the Iraqi Government. However, Egypt is a bitter rival of Iranian backed groups like Hezbollah, the Houthis, the Popular Mobilization Forces, Polisario-led Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic, and People's Protection Units, as Egypt supports Morocco in Western Shahara and Saudi Arabia in Yemen, respectively.

Intervention[edit]

On July 30, 2020, It was alleged that Egypt had sent 150 soldiers to assist the Syrian Government.[68][69][70] Egypt vocally supported Syria in 2016.[1][71]
